Hanging out

I have been hanging out a bit in Vava'u and have found myself spending a fair bit of time at the Poolside Café. As you can see, the drink prices are very affordable...And, as it is well known that us gnomes quite like our brew, affordable pricing is important to me. I also like that the Poolside offers two choices of beer for only $5...a Foster's or a Maka, so I can mix it up a bit should the urge stike.

Thursday nights are Quiz Night at Tonga Bob's. This is great fun i would recommend it. The Quiz starts about 7:30. This usually gives me enough time to stop at Poolside Café for dinner for their Pre-Pub Quiz Pizza special. I love it because you get two slices of pepperoni, ham and onion or a veggie option pizza AND a Foster's for only $10. What a steal! Who knew that at these prices I could afford to feed my brain before before Quiz Night and drink it stupid at the same time. Vava'u really is a tropical paradise.

Well that's about all I have been up to for the last bit. Happy travels and hope to see you around!

Long time no see

Hello Vava'u:

I felt the time had come to update you.

I have been laying low for some time getting adjusted to all the new tropical vegetation and strange critters around me. I am still worried that one day I will be eaten by a pig or flying chicken, but so far so good.

Upon arrival to Vava'u I did a bit of exploring and took in some of the local sites and wildlife.

In May I found a new home in Vaipua, a hilltop community in Vava'u. When I first arrived the gardens were somewhat overgrown and in need of my services. So, while my human companions were out doing whatever it is they do, (they appear to run some sort of restaurant...I only hope it sells the brew of which I am very fond) I took it upon myself to get rid of the weeds and do a bit of planting. Up to this point, I have only managed to plant a pineapple and some garlic, but I will soon get some new seeds in the ground...provided I can stay off the sauce!

The humans assure me that all is going well and I will not be uprooted anytime soon. Being more settled I am hoping I will have more time to write and keep you all updated on my adventure.

Cheers,

Cedric

The new vehicle

Yesterday was a hotter day than I have ever experienced in my 207 years of life. The sun was blazing and the humidity high. Nevertheless, my human companions and I went down to the car dealership to pay off our new used vehicle. They have yet to let me test drive it, but that is only a matter of time. If you look closely, you can see me standing on the Windshield wiper of the driver's side.

Shipping also got arranged, and I have been told that the vehicle will arrive in Vava'u on April 18th.

Tomorrow the three of us are heading to Auckland, NZ. Who knows what trouble I will get into there.

Out of the Backpack and onto the Island

Hello friends!

After being tucked away for close to a week, I crawled out of the backpack where I had stowed myself away to find that I was already in Tonga.

Somehow I completely missed Fiji, but having heard the weather was horrendous with rain and flooding, I was not too disappointed.

I also questioned whether the Fijian authorities would have accepted my passport.

Here in Tonga I have been staying with my human travelling companions at the Little Italy hotel and seeing the sites. I was most pleased to see that our room had been upgraded to an ocean view room.

I even had the opportunity to drive. It was nice to back in a country where they drive on the left hand side...although I do not think my

After a day of driving around the island I went out on a bender my first night here, indulging in the gin and rum left in the room.

This led to the need for a large cup of cappuccino followed by more beer
